Signal of the week · Research note · 4 Nov 2026

10 FDA warning letters dated 1 October 2026 target unapproved herpes and chlamydia products, 2 of them to Amazon and Walmart; five sweep days carry 144 of 585 drug and biologic warning letters since October 2024

Public FDA compliance records in Svatantra.ai's signal database show 22 warning letters from the agency's drug and biologic centers dated 1 to 23 October 2026. Twelve carry one date, 1 October 2026, and ten of those are a single sweep against unapproved over-the-counter products sold for herpes, chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis: eight to the firms behind the products and two to Amazon.com and Walmart for third-party listings shipped from their fulfillment warehouses. Across the whole table, five letter dates with ten or more letters account for 144 of 585 letters (24.6 percent, our arithmetic), while the median letter date carries one. This note sets out the counts, the ten letters, the earlier sweep days as public reporting describes them, and what the records do not show.
